Joanna Rajtar was born in Poland and started her career as a lawyer. After arriving in Australia, Joanna now practices painting and digital art. She developed her practice under the supervision of her favourite painter Marek Wiliński at Oak Hill Gallery. In her artworks, she portrays Polish folklore, culture, cuisine and customs. Her longing for Poland is met with the serenity written on the faces of Polish grandmothers and grandfathers. She feels sympathy and love for her subjects, and draws from their wisdom. She uses varied painting techniques. Joanna’s art can be found online or at local craft markets in Melbourne.
