Julia Firak is a professional photographer based in Sydney, originally from Warsaw, Poland. She loves connecting with people across various art disciplines, experimenting with light, being creative, finding beauty in people, places and objects and focusing on our more profound, emotional side. Her interests led her to pursue portrait and film still photography. In 2021 Julia was a finalist of the Martin Kantor Portrait Prize and received a Highly Commended award in the Open category of Australasia’s Top Emerging Photographers by Capture Magazine.

The sight of snow at night always takes me straight back to the past. I know my memories are far more colourful than reality. Even the cold feels different, I used to want to escape from it, but now I miss it.
