As a first-generation Australian with Polish parents, Karina Kukielka family heritage has played a big part in who she is. Throughout the 22 years of her life, Karina has attended Polish school for eight years, been a part of the Polish Folkloric Ensemble “Syrenka” for 17 years, the “Syrenka” committee for the better half of 4 years, and been an active member of the Polish Community in Ashfield. Having come from such a strong Polish heritage, Karina has always admired Polish people’s determination and resilience despite a challenging history. In between her studies at university and work, Karina creates bespoke artworks through a variety of different mediums including, clay, oil and acrylic paints, watercolor, fabric, and Ink. Her paintings portray the emotion and movement that she has discovered through Polish dancing and Polish culture.
